Result!

well I gotta say I'm proud for my first effort so far!

Luckily for me,Mr or Mrs Fly (R.I.P)
is well hidden by the MXR type knob...nice one!

Finish isn't quite as crinkly as I'd like, but I'm debating if a second coat will look crap or not?
I think I'll do two coats on the bottom plate as a test and see if the effect gets more pronounced as a result...

...right then,Tea time!

  1. looks great, exactly my kind of colour and knobbage... the led looks so much nicer not in a massive great bezel too. ..... so, um, what is it? lol.

...all it needs is a nice thin metal washer under that switch, plastic for the loss!!! ;)

  2. ...it might be the undercoat that stopped it going as 'hammered' as it might have done with the special 'hammerite' primer.. maybe anyway... or maybe not, it looks nice anyway.

  3. ...or thinking about it maybe the coat wasn't thick enough, so it didn't hammer up as much...

.. I need to stop thinking about this.

  4. It's my old BYOC tonebender, thought i'd use it as my Guinea pig
yeah I'm thinking it's actually the coat wasn't thick enough...
my Dad thought me to go lightly with spray-paint but it looks like Hammerite is a different animal to work with altogether!

I'll see what I can do about that washer ;)

  5. yeah, with hammerite you need to whack it on pretty thick (with a brush anyway, never used the spray) ... because you only do one coat and it needs to be thick enough for the reaction in the paint to work.... but it looks nice anyway and at least you'll be able to do more cases with it.
